Thin Mint Brownies & Kake Pops -- St. Patty's Style

I love Girl Scout time. For some reason, I get inspiration from Thin Mints. This year, my friend Dawn LaFrance told me to crush a sleeve and stir it into brownie mix. Out of luck, I'm sure, my sister had a box of Ghirradelli DARK chocolate brownie mix with chunks! Mmmmm....chuuuunks.

These cake pops are filled with yellow cake, vanilla frosting, and the luck of the Irish.

Valentine Kake Pops and Mini Cupcake Kake Balls

I had help from some friends decorating these pretty cake bites. We had fun trying this fun new treat from "Cake Pops" by Bakerella which Eric got me for Christmas.

Gwyn's Birthday Kake

Gwyn turned nine years old with the coolest party I've ever been to - there were henna tattoos, video games and this purple cake with an iCarly toy topper.

Butterfly Cream Cheese Kake

Yum! This is a baby shower cake. I followed the design of the family's nursery decor.

Wedding Shower Kake

This pretty cake was made for a beautiful family wedding shower.

Kookie and Kandy Tray

Chocolate chip and walnut cookies, fudge and minty melts for snacking friends calling at Christmas.

Happy Birthday Kaptain Carla!

Carla loved her four layer M&M airplane cake. Notice there are two different airplanes. Eric did the one that Carla is holding. :-)

Chocolate Potato Chips

Here are some chocolate coated potato chips for Mom.

Christmas Fudge

It's been awhile since I posted something at Kimmie Kakes, but I'm still around - making and baking stuff.

Christmas is fudge time in our home. We made a new fudge this year - it's white chocolate with fruit gummies that gave a nice stained glass effect. As always, I followed my mother's famous recipe as a base.

I'm upset with Disney World on this one, though. They need to put more Mickey heads in their sprinkles that they sell.

Still a very pretty 1/4 lb. of fudge.

Jungle Kake

Carson wanted palm trees on his birthday cake, so I made sure there were plenty all the way around the sides.

Mickey Mouse Klubhouse Kake

Hooray for Haley's Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! The cake is decorated with buttercream icing and fondant details.

More Shortbread Kookies

For Father's Day, I made my dad more cutout shortbread cookies (my sister ate most of the first batch... that's my story and I'm sticking to it).
This time, I took pictures of the almonds after they were crushed, then the dough all creamy becaues I LOVE COOKIE DOUGH!
Happy Father's Day, Dad!

Smokey the Bear kake

I made this cake for a forester. His wife wanted Smokey the Bear and lemon cake. At first I thought of a three dimentional cake; then I thought maybe the whole body. But when I started working on it, this is what came out. I hope you like it, Kevin.
Happy Birthday!

Ice Kream Party Kake

I made this fun ice cream cake with a specially shaped pan, strawberry cake, packed chocolate ice cream and whip topping. I'm glad to hear it got rave reviews at my husband's work.

Alex's Kake

Happy Birthday Alex!
This started as a lonely little 5 inch cake that needed someone to love it. Then Alex had a birthday. It dressed all snazzy in pinstripes and was the life of the party. Good job, little cake. You were yummy.

Grateful Bear Baby Kake

I made this cake for my friend's baby shower. The bears looked great face on, with details like hair on his elbows and, legs and ears. On the side this photo makes them look like gorillas. Ha!
Purple, yellow, green, blue and pink bears sit on top of a two layer cake 10 inch cake with rainbow chip frosting. I love that stuff, even if it is store bought! It's what Heather requested and I can't disappoint a client.

Kake Truffles

Cake truffles are made from cake scraps and mixed with icing, then dipped in chocolate. Very tasty and quite addictive!

Australia Kake

This cake was carved into the shape of Australia with the nation's flag and two funny koala bears on top. I'm excited to say the fondant was homemade and tasted great! The cake is chocolate with almond-vanilla icing; it reminded me of a big Oreo cookie inside.
Happy 90th Birthday, Mutti! Mutti's family is originally from Tasmania, so it was important that I include the southeast island. All of her grandchildren got together for an Australian themed birthday party complete with music and dancing. I felt honored to be a part of this special day.

What a fun kake to make! The icing is buttercream, the decorations are made of fondant.

Kooky Kupcakes

Fun purple and green chocolate kupkakes that I made with leftover icing.

Pumpkin Kupkakes

These were made in October. I love marshmellow pumpkins and needed a reason to buy a bag.

Becky's Cream Cheese and Devil's Food Kake

Becky left work, and I just had to make her a cake. I asked her what she wanted and she said devil's food cake with cream cheese icing. Good pick. It was delish. The sides are covered with mini chocolate chips.
